Aaron Hernandez’s body found with Bible verse written on forehead

Before he hanged himself with a bedsheet in his prison cell, former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez used a red marker to scrawl the Bible verse John 3:16 across his forehead, according to a report.

The verse, among the most quoted in Christianity, speaks of God’s love for the world and His supreme sacrifice.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” the New Testament’s King James version reads.

His Bible in his cell was open to that verse, said the station.

Prison officials said Hernandez, a former New England Patriots tight end serving a life sentence on a murder conviction, hanged himself with a bedsheet the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley.

His body was found Wednesday morning.

Sources told Boston’s WBZ that investigators believe one of the last people to see Hernandez is a close friend who is now in isolation on what is called “eyeball suicide watch.”

The sources also said investigators are looking into the possibility that the Hernandez may have smoked synthetic marijuana called K2 Tuesday night.

Hernandez was serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd in 2013.

Five days ago, Hernandez was acquitted of double murder charges in the shooting deaths of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in July 2012.
