A new video has surfaced showing a cop being shot several times during the horrific shooting in Dallas last night. The incident left 12 officers wounded and 5 officers dead.

The brief clip, released by BallerAlert earlier today, seems to be taken from inside a building around the area where the shootings took place. A gunman appears to run up to a police officer and fires shots. The officer was standing behind a pillar when the gunman approached him and proceeded to shoot him. There is no other information on the video at this time. “It’s obvious that the person who was shot in this instance, was unaware that the other person was there at that time,” says the newscaster narrating the video. The man who was shot appeared to be wearing a cop uniform.

The shootings took place last night during what started as a peaceful protest for the killings of black men Philando Castile and Alton Sterling at the hands of police. Friday [July 8], the lead suspect in the killings was reported to be Micah Xavier Johnson, 25,  of Mesquite, Texas, according to CNN. He once served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
